The Department of Planning and Development is responsible for Community and Transportation Planning, Zoning, Building Inspections, Code Enforcement, Business and Alcohol License and the issuance of Sign Permits.

Our City


The City of Grovetown is the fastest growing City in the CSRA.  We are proud of maintaining our small hometown feeling while providing our citizens with an excellent quality of life that includes: Parks, Shopping, Entertainment and a Progressive City Government.  

Department Goal


To provide professional advice and technical expertise to citizens, elected officials, appointed boards and commissions, and City departments to assist in understanding and addressing key community issues and priorities.

Further, the department's mission is to encourage sound and ethical planning principles that promote rational, economical and environmentally efficient use of land that allows Grovetown to grow in a manner consistent with the goals of the community.

Our offices will be closing at noon on Thursday July 2nd and remain closed Friday July 3rd for the Independence Day Holiday.  July 4We will reopen at 9 am on Monday July 6th. 

If you need a permit while we are closed, please email the permit application as normal and we will get it processed as soon as we open on Monday July 6th.
