The city of Grovetown's Fire Department personnel will begin annual fire hydrant testing and flushing for 2018 the week of April 16th. Testing will occur weekly or biweekly for the next two to three months.
Fire hydrant testing and flushing will occur April 17th, 18th, and 19th between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the following subdivisions in the vicinity of E Robinson Avenue: Pepper Hill; Summerfield; Martha’s Vinyard, and Bryan’s Circle. Door hangers to alert residents that testing may affect them will be placed in these subdivisions on Monday, April 16th.
Notification of fire hydrant testing and flushing will be posted on the City website at www.cityofgrovetown.com and Mayor Gary Jones’ Facebook page.
Residents in the affected subdivisions and areas may experience low water pressure and cloudy or brown water during the testing. The water discoloration is not harmful but could stain laundry so affected residents are advised to avoid using their washing machines during this time and to test that their water has returned to clear before doing laundry.
