The city of Grovetown's Fire Department personnel will begin annual fire hydrant testing and flushing for 2018 the week of June 18th.
Fire hydrant testing and flushing will occur June 19th - 21st between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (weather permitting) in the following areas: Sierra Lane, Old Thomson Road, Lakeside Drive, Old Berzelia Road, Ashland Commons Subdivision, Grove Landing Subdivision, and the 5400 - 5600 Block of Harlem Grovetown Road. Door hangers notifying residents that testing may affect them will be placed in these subdivisions on Monday, June 18th.
Notification of fire hydrant testing and flushing will be posted on the City website at www.cityofgrovetown.com and Mayor Gary Jones’ Facebook page.
Residents in the affected subdivisions and areas may experience low water pressure and cloudy or brown water during the testing. The water discoloration is not harmful but could stain laundry so affected residents are advised to avoid using their washing machines during this time and to test that their water has returned to clear before doing laundry.
