The city of Grovetown's Fire Department personnel will begin annual fire hydrant testing and flushing for 2018 the week of May 21st. Testing will occur weekly or biweekly for the next two to three months.
Fire hydrant testing and flushing will occur May 22nd, 23rd & 24th between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (weather permitting) in the following areas: Goodale Landing, Creekside Estates, Horizon Senior Village, Nothrop Place, Brandimere Townhomes, Adams Lane and Fornum Drive. Door hangers notifying residents that testing may affect them will be placed in these subdivisions on Monday, May 21st.
Notification of fire hydrant testing and flushing will be posted on the City website at www.cityofgrovetown.com and Mayor Gary Jones’ Facebook page.
Residents in the affected subdivisions and areas may experience low water pressure and cloudy or brown water during the testing. The water discoloration is not harmful but could stain laundry so affected residents are advised to avoid using their washing machines during this time and to test that their water has returned to clear before doing laundry.
