Waste Management

The City of Grovetown Public Works Department is responsible for overseeing waste management services in the city including municipal solid waste, recyclable, and disposal services in a manner that is environmentally sound, cost-effective, and safe.  However, these items need to be separated at the curb prior to city pickup.  Example: Yard waste separated from bulk items, etc.

Residential Collection

Residential garbage collection is provided to the residents of the City of Grovetown through a contract with Advanced Disposal. Advanced Disposal provides integrated, non-hazardous solid waste collection, recycling and disposal services to residential, commercial, industrial and construction customers across 17 states and the Bahamas.

Curbside Leaf & Limb Collection

The city offers a curbside leaf and limb collection service to its residents as an environmentally-conscious means for disposing of yard waste. The city collects yard waste in the form of grass, leaves and brush.  Limbs need to be cut to a minimum of 4 ft. in length.

The city is committed to recycling, waste reduction, pollution prevention and preservation of natural resources. The city's recycling initiative actively promotes and provides curbside pickup.  You can also take your items to the Columbia County Recycling Center on William Few Parkway.

We encourage you to recycle your bulky items through charitable organizations and thrift stores. However, if you are unable to do so, the city provides weekly curbside pick-up of large or bulky household items which will not fit inside the regular roll-out carts.
