Unified Development Ordinance

We want your input as the City of Grovetown works to streamline our codes into one Unified Development Ordinance! Stay tuned to this webpage for future meetings, draft documents, and opportunities to provide your input.

At the November 13, 2023, City Council Meeting, the Grovetown City Council approved a contract for services with Kimley-Horn to work with staff to produce a Unified Development Ordinance for the City of Grovetown.

The purpose of creating a Unified Development Ordinance is to integrate the City’s existing Zoning Ordinance (“Appendix A” to the City of Grovetown Code of Ordinances), Subdivision Ordinance (“Appendix B” to the City of Grovetown Code of Ordinances), Sign Ordinance (“Appendix C” to the City of Grovetown Code of Ordinances), and Stormwater Management Ordinance (Chapter 17 in the City of Grovetown Code of Ordinances) into one streamlined ordinance (UDO).

As all of these codes will be edited to some degree, so now is the time to make any changes, large or small, so that our process better reflects the will of our citizens and stakeholders.

WE NEED YOU TO BE INVOLVED!

Throughout the process, we will ask the public and stakeholders to weigh in on important components of the UDO. The new zoning code is expected to be completed as early as January 2025. Thank you for your interest in this important process. Stay tuned to this webpage for important dates, detailed explanatory documents, and opportunities to participate.
